Yes, every time you turn on the toothbrush, it will automatically revert back to the last mode selected from the previous use.
Yes, the brush will turn off automatically after 2 minutes to encourage you to brush for this standard period. Within those 2 minutes, after every 30 seconds interval, the toothbrush will stop for 0.5 seconds as a signal to move the toothbrush to a different section of your teeth for brushing.
The toothbrush can be turned off with the POWER button after a minimum of 3 seconds have passed from the time the brushing mode is selected.
