The UltraPop Popping Chamber has a maximum capacity of 2.1oz / 60g. Fill the measuring spoon with kernels until level and add to the chamber. There is a maximum fill line marked within the Popping Chamber and you should never fill the popcorn above this line. You can also add less than 2.1oz to the chamber for smaller batches.
No, the popper pops the popcorn kernels with hot air only so there is no need to add oil or other fats to pop the corn. DO NOT add any additional ingredient to the popping chamber other than popcorn kernels. Salt, butter, oil, sugar, and all other flavorings can be added directly to the popcorn after it has popped.
- There are many different types of popcorn kernels available on the market. In general, we recommend using small to medium-sized kernels (for a butterfly-shaped pop) as opposed to large kernels (for a mushroom-shaped pop).
- Always use fresh popcorn. Dried out, or stale popcorn pops poorly as it has lost its moisture content and may scorch within the popper.
- DO NOT use microwave popcorn.
It will take approximately 2 minutes to pop a full chamber of kernels. The popping cycle is completed when there is a gap of 5 seconds between kernels popping. Turn off the unit and any remaining kernels will pop with the heat of the chamber.
The UltraPop is installed with a thermostat, which means the popper will turn off automatically when a certain temperature is reached to prevent overheating. When using, you can turn off your UltraPop at any time using the ON/OFF switch. Allow some cooling time in between batches.
Ensure the butter is at room temperature before trying to melt in the measuring cup. Cut no more than approximately 2 Tablespoons of butter into small evenly sized pieces, and add to the measuring cup. Operate the UltraPop to heat the butter ready to pour on your popped popcorn.
